Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange recorded modest gains after the first hour of trading Monday morning. The TA composite index stood at 1,010.45, up two tenths of a percent, while the TA 100 rose .21 percent to 1,020.89, including a .19 gain to 1,123.15 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the real estate stocks, which rose .54 percent to 286.02, followed by the communications and media index, which stood at 706.69, up .46 percent. The biomed issues rose .34 percent to 766.91, while the rest of the technology stocks stood at 291.78, up .29 percent. The oil and natural gas stocks rose two tenths of a percent to 1,273.47. With the bank index rising .09 percent to 1,016.27, the financial institutions stood at 930.57, up .08 percent, while the insurance issues declined .21 percent to 1,049.42.
