Pay for Those Who Quit to Join National Service

The Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee unanimously approved for its second and third readings, Monday, a bill that would qualify those who quit their jobs for at least six months of national volunteer service, severance pay as if they were fired.

The bill affects about 3,000 volunteers. Committee Chairman Chaim Katz said he will try to bring the measure for a vote in the Knesset next week.
