Rabbi Yitzchak Ezrahi, one of the heads of the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem, asked the public on Sunday to pray for the recovery of Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, whose condition deteriorated earlier in the day.
“We need to know that the situation we're in right now is a world war, and that if we pray now during a time of danger our prayer can have supernatural effects,” Rabbi Ezrahi said. “Prayer in general is a natural thing, and one should know there is nothing in the world that prayer cannot help fix. Prayer is beneficial to everything.”
