Shekel, Euro Stronger; Yen, Aussie Dollar Weaker

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .228 percent, Friday, against most of the currencies featured on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.713, down .215 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro slipped .022 percent to 4.9279 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8819, down three tenths of a percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .806 percent to 4.7768 shekels and the Australian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.9727, down 1.034 percent. The lone currency to rise was the Norwegian krone, which was set at .6459 shekels, up .015 percent.
