Newly elected Meretz leader MK Zehava Galon promised to “storm the Israeli street” in her victory speech Tuesday night.

“I am going to bring back to Meretz the non-institutional, energetic, audacious, pointy and smart spirit,” Galon said. “I’ll present to the public a total and coherent perception of the world. A perception which connects erosion of democracy and the struggle against the occupation and struggle for social justice, between activity and socio-economic achievements and a clear agenda of human and civil rights.”
