The Histadrut announced Monday the full list of who and what will strike on Wednesday, if the threatened strike of the entire economy comes to pass. Universities, banks, and ports, along with Israel Railways will be shut for the entire day. Ben Gurion Airport will halt operations between 6 AM and 12 PM. All municipal offices will be closed, as will National Insurance (Bituach Leumi) and Employment Service offices. Wizo and Na'amat schools will not hold sessions, but special education classes in these networks will be held.
Histadrut chairman Ofer Eini will meet Monday with government and business officials in a last minute effort to avoid the strike. The Histadrut says that the government has been dragging its feet on promises to offer full time jobs and benefits to thousands of contract workers in government agencies.
