Jerusalem police arrested, Monday, nine men and women on suspicion of being members of a cult currently facing charges for abusing women and children. The suspects were re-arrested after police received intelligence and evidence that they intended to take witnesses in the case to an apartment in the north of the country to prevent them from testifying in their current case.
Three children of the alleged cult leader and some of the women are suspected of renting an apartment in Yavniel a few months ago, on the instructions of the alleged cult leader. They are also suspected of stocking the apartment with food and appliances for a long stay. The remand of some of the suspects was extended on Monday. A remand hearing for the rest of them is scheduled for Tuesday.
