Kinneret Up 1.5 Centimeters

The Water Authority reported, Monday, that the water level of Lake Kinneret (The Sea of Galilee) has risen 1.5 centimeters/.6 inches in the last 24 hours. The level of Israel's largest freshwater source stood at 212.975 meters below sea level, about 2.5 centimeters/1 inch above the lower red line.

The rise is a result of melting snows on Mount Hermon and stormwater runoff from recent rain, in spite of the fact that there has been no precipitation since Thursday. Light rain may return to the area, Tuesday evening.
