Member of Knesset Ronit Tirosh (Kadima) reported, Monday, that she organized a spontaneous meeting on the Middle East with counterparts from the parliaments of Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and other Arab countries and the Women and Technology conference, taking place in India. She said the Iranian delegate preferred to leave when she found out what was going on.
Tirosh said, "The conference was successful and the conversation was fascinating. At its conclusion, we determined that we will start convening a meeting of women for the Middle East, for continuation of the dialogue and future cooperation between us. It was determined that the event will take place in one of the Arab countries where an Israeli delegation will be given the appropriate permission to participate." She added, "With dialogue and a genuine desire we have witnessed our ability to overcome disagreements, hostility and mutual gaps of lack of familiarity and understanding. I intend to continue promoting this welcome initiative, to promote such conferences. I'm sure it's a golden opportunity for mediation and a better future."
