Defense Minister Ehud Barak decided, Sunday, to appoint veteran government radio and television broadcaster Yaron Dekel to head Israel Defense Forces Radio. Between 2002 and 2007 Dekel was the Israel Broadcasting Authority's Washington bureau chief. Since then, he has hosted a radio talk show.
Barak's office said the choice was made after consultations with Chief of Staff Benny Gantz. The statement called the field of four finalists "good journalists."
