Hundreds of demonstrators gathered, Thursday evening, in front of the People's Assembly, where a stormy emergency meeting took place, following the riots which broke out Wednesday night at the end of a soccer match in Port Said, according to Egyptian media reports. At the same time, several thousand people participated in a mourning march in Cairo in memory of the 74 people who died in the riots.
Among those taking part in the mourning procession was Egyptian national-team coach Bob Bradley of the United States, his family and famous soccer players. The participants chanted slogans against the "massacre", and demanded that Egypt's Supreme Military Council transfer government to civilian hands as soon as possible. Participants waved black flags and many of them donated blood to the estimated thousand Egyptians who were injured in the rioting.
