Terrorist Leader Calls for Unity with Jordan

Chairman of the Hamas terrorist organization's political bureau, Khaled Meshal commented on his recent visit to Jordan on Al-Arabiya TV stating that the "security and stability of Jordan are very important to Hamas. It should be noted that the visit to the Jordan is the first visit of its kind since the closure of Hamas offices and the expulsion of the leaders from Jordan in 1999."

Jordan's King Abdullah II stated that "Jordan supports the right of Palestinians to establish a state on 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem."

From 1948 to 1967 Jordan occupied Judea, Samaria and East Jerusalem. In 1988 Jordan officially relinquished its claim to the areas in favor of the PLO taking it over instead. Arabs living the the area previously were considered full-fledged Jordanian citizens.
