Forty people were injured in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday morning, when a fire broke out in an apartment building in Be'er Ya'akov, south of Tel Aviv. Most of the people suffered smoke inhalation. A number of people suffered broken bones after jumping out of windows.

The victims were sent to Tel Hashomer, Kaplan and Asaf Harofe hospitals.
