Mofaz Promises Livni Senior Position if Elected PM

Member of Knesset Shaul Mofaz officially launched his campaign for leadership of the Kadima party on Monday. At a news conference to mark the event, he said that if he is elected prime minister, he will offer a "very senior position" to current Kadima leader Tzipi Livni.

The party leader is considered the party candidate for prime minister. While Kadima won the most seats in the last Knesset election with Livni in the top spot, it could not project forming a ruling coalition, which put the Likud party in power.
