Director General Sar-Shalom Jerbi of the National Civilian Service (Sherut Le'umi) volunteer organization suggested, Sunday, exploring a plan to integrate a wide array of volunteers in nursing homes. Speaking at the annual conference of the ABA association of nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Israel, which took place in Eilat, Jerbi presented data about the National Service's activities nationwide to assistance the elderly population, specifically the "Vehadarta" (Show Respect) project, in which volunteers help the elderly in private homes and in hospitals.
