MK Tzipi Hotovely (Likud), who chairs the Committee on the Status of Women, welcomed on Thursday an announcement by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor that in 2011, more than a hundred million shekels were transferred for daycare reinforcement around the country and that about a quarter of that amount was invested in daycares in Judea and Samaria.
“I’m glad that a large amount of the budget for building daycares finally reached its destination,” Hotovely told Arutz Sheva. “Fortunately, communities in Judea and Samaria received significant support, probably due to the high number of children and thanks to all the good work done by the local governments.”
She added, “For decades there was a lack of daycares in Judea and Samaria, and hundreds of thousands of families were forced to send their children to daycares an hour’s drive away. I'm glad that today the children of Judea and Samaria receive the same rights as children in Tel Aviv.”
