Attorney Ariel Atari, who represents Yigal Amir who was convicted of murdering Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin in 1995, criticized on Wednesday the Israel Prison Service for allowing terrorist Marwan Barghouti to give an interview to the press, while punishing Amir every time he dares to talk to reporters.
“The last time Yigal Amir spoke off the record with Channel 10 he was deprived of all his rights and to this day is suffering from sanctions,” Atari told Arutz Sheva. “The Prison Service claims that it is impossible to have Yigal Amir be interviewed to express his views, while Marwan Barghouti is being interviewed freely.”
He added, “I want to know whether the Prison Service and the security services gave approval for Barghouti to be interviewed and if not, what penalties will be imposed on him.”
