Tel Aviv Stocks off to Mixed Start

Prices were mixed, Tuesday, at the start of trading at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. Five minutes into the session, the TA composite index stood at 1,017.77, no change from Monday's close, while the TA 100 slipped .02 percent to 1,025.98, including a .11 percent drop to 1,131.29 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 mid-cap stocks outside the TA 100 advanced .16 percent to 368.64.

The biomed index rose  half a percent to 788.85, while the rest of the technology issues declined an average of .26 percent to 283.25. The same percentage drop made for a 280.37 posting by the real-estate stocks, and the oil and natural gas index stood at 1,289.73, up .08 percent. With the insurance issues showing no change at 1,111.20, the financial institutions declined .19 percent to 940.15, including a .33 percent drop by the bank stocks to 1,005.24. The communications index stood at 730.87, down .29 percent.
