Report: Commander Gets Serious Marks for Unit's Hazing

A soldiers complaints officer put a severe remark in the file of a classified intelligence unit's commander on his handling of a series of pranks and degradation by officers and soldiers on a new officer who came to the unit, according to a Tuesday morning report by Kol Yisrael government radio. A comment was also registered in the file of an officer who initiated the pranks and forbade him from filing a complaint or taking action against his comrades in arms.

The Israel Defense Forces Spokesman responded by saying that the IDF views his actions as severe, and that it was an unusual event that is incompatible with the values of the IDF and the unit. The commander of the unit followed the conclusions of the Ombudsman for the soldiers.
