Gaza Exports First Furniture Items Since 2007

Israel has authorized the export of furniture from Gaza, for the first time since 2007. On Sunday, a shipment of furniture made its way across the Kerem Shalom crossing, and from there to the Allenby Bridge, where it was taken to a furniture show in Jordan.

The furniture export was authorized after the security cabinet decided some months ago to ease export restrictions on produce, textiles, and some manufactured goods from Gaza. The restrictions were enacted after Hamas took over Gaza, and attacked Israel with thousands of rockets.
