C'tee to Seek Compensation Mechanism for Migron

The Knesset Committee on Public Petitions will call on the state to create a mechanism for compensating residents of the Binyamin-region Jewish community Migron, ahead of their scheduled eviction under a Supreme Court order. That's the word coming out of Monday hearing by the committee requested by Migron residents against the background of no government action to avoid the demolition of homes there.

Committee Chairman David Azoulay will ask if any of the relevant authorities has started to act on the matter or to contact those who are slated for eviction, in an effort to reduce or prevent suffering on the order of what has already been experienced in demolitions at the site. Residents of the community relived the trauma they have suffered, accusing the authorities who carried out the demolitions of not meeting their legal requirements.
