The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange was slightly down at the start of trading on Monday. The TA composite index stood at 1,022.27, down .01 percent from Sunday's close, while the same percentage made for 1,030.45 posting, about 10 minutes into trading, by the TA 100, including a .09 percent drop by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks outside the TA 100 rose .06 percent to 371.85.
Leading the gainers were the communications issues, which rose .36 percent to 742.51, followed by the biomed stocks, which stood at 795.62, up .21 percent. The rest of the technology index rose .12 percent to 286.79, while the real estate index was trading at 281.81, up .09 percent. The oil and natural gas index declined .16 percent to 1,290.41, just ahead of the insurance issues, which stood at 1,123.55, down .17 percent. With the bank stocks falling .37 percent to 1,003.68, the financial institutions stood at 943.20.
