The Education Ministry approved, in recent days, a 22-million-shekel grant for establishing 14 kindergardens and adding 12 classrooms to schools in the Gush Etzion block of Judean Jewish communities. The grant was recommended by the Trajtenberg Committee on socio-economic reform. It reflects the fact that the bloc's population growth was the most significant of any area in Judea and Samaria, according to figures released, last week, by the Interior Ministry.
Four kindergardens will be built in Tekoa, three Har Gilo and two each will be built in Elazar and Rosh Tzurim. The other three will be built in Carmei Tzur, Kefar Eldad and Nokdim. Authorities are proceeding immediately, in order to give families the most options starting next year. Some of the additional classrooms may take longer.
