Most of the major indices at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to moderate gains to close out the trading week on Thursday. The TA composite index rose .42 percent to 1,023.98, while the TA 100 finished the day a percentage point higher at 1,032.13, including a .47 rise to 1,136.64 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were most of the technology stocks, which rose an average of 1.2 percent to 287.56, while the biomed index fell 1.24 percent to 790.27. With the bank issues rising .88 percent to 1,004.38, the financial institutions closed at 950.83, up .37 percent, including a .12 percent decline by the insurance stocks to 1,143.69. The oil and natural gas index rose .24 percent to 1,286.51 while the communications issues fell .49 percent to 745.16 and the real estate stocks closed at 283.03, down .58 percent
