US: Iran Still Has a Chance to Avoid Confrontation


The White House spokesman said last night that Iran can still avoid direct confrontation over its nuclear plans.

In a talk with the media, spokesman Jay Carney said that Iran should hold talks with the major world powers about its nuclear program. Carney refused to acknowledge reports that President Obama had sent a letter to Iran's leaders on the subject.
