Yisrael Hayom Apologizes to Samaria Residents Official

The Yisrael Hayom newspaper apologized, Tuesday, to Coordinator Sagi Keisler of the Samaria (Shomron) Residents' Committee after publishing a story that he gave information to prosecutors regarding the riot by activists at the headquarters of the Israel Defense Forces' Ephraim Division. The apology came after a letter from the committee's attorney, Doron Nir Zvi, threatening a suit if an apology was not forthcoming.

Keisler told Arutz Sheva, "In recent years, a number of reporters got used [to the idea] that the settlers are transparent, you can step on them, to slander them and accuse them of plots without any trace of ethics or decency. era is over. Samarian residents are not a doormat of anyone. Every libelous journalist will be demanded [to apologize], and if he does not apologize - to pay ".
