Chief of Staff Benny Gantz of the Israel Defense Forces left, Tuesday for a meeting of his counterparts in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels. Deputy Chief of Staff YairNaveh will be in command during Gantz's absence.
During the two-day visit, the chief of staff will discuss the nearby and distant challenges for Israel and its military, the combination of regional threats and the importance of cooperationwithNATOcountries andarmiesagainstthe globalterrorist threat. In addition, Gantz is expectedto speakduring a meeting between Mediterraneancountriesand the heads ofthe armiesofNATO countries.
