Most of the major indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest gains, in mixed trading at the start of Monday's session. The TA composite index rose .27 percent to 1,002.46, while the TA 100 stood at 1,010.24, up .29 percent, including a .34 percent gain to 1,111.02 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were most of the technology stocks, which rose .42 percent to 283.01, while the biotechnology index stood at 785.82, up .31 percent. The oil and gas issues rose .12 percent to 1,271.97, while the real estate stocks slipped .08 percent to 273.16.
Shortly after the opening, the exchange posted a notice that the website was undergoing maintenance. Arab hackers, encouraged by Hamas, said they were going to strike the internet site as par of their cyber war with Israel.
