A daughter was born, Thursday evening, to Akiva Hacohen of the Samarian Jewish community of Yitzhar, who is in jail, awaiting trial on charges he supplied information on Israeli troops during recent evictions at Jewish outpost communities in Judea and Samaria, according to the Tatzpit news agency. The girl is his second daughter, to go along with three sons.
Hacohen is one of 13 people banished from Yitzhar under an administrative order, about two months ago. According to a statement released by sources in Yitzhar, "The insistence of the prosecution to prevent Hacohen's conditional release after repeated petitions, is a new record of insensitivity of the system against Hacohen and his family. We are confident that the daughter born under these conditions, will continue the glory of the way of her parents' devotion for the land of Israel."
