Shekel, Euro Up; Pound Down

The official value of the shekel rose and average of .164 percent, Thursday, against most of the currencies featured on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.836, down .338 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro slipped .065 percent to 4.8871 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8831, down .67 percent, while 100 Japanese yen declined .124 percent to 4.9899 shekels. South Africa's rand rose .847 percent to NIS .4763, while the Australian dollar was fixed at 3.9716 shekels, up .399 percent, and the Swiss frank rose .077 percent to NIS 4.0347.
