An underground rapid transit system will be built in Tel Aviv. The announcement was made by Yisrael Katz, the Knesset's Minister of Transportation. Katz said the first two lines of the new Tel Aviv metropolitan area light rail can expected in the coming years. He estimated the "red line" will be completed in 2017 and the "green Line" in 2020.
