Justice Rivlin Not Interested in High Court Presidency

Vice President Eliezer Rivlin of the Supreme Court said, Tuesday, that he is not interested in ascending to the top spot when Court President Dorit Beinisch steps down, in February.

Speaking during a hearing on a petition against the newly-passed "Grunis Law", which would pave the way for fellow High Court justice Asher Grunis to become Chief Justice, Rivlin said, "Don't worry at all. There could be a change: instead of being a deputy to a female president, I'll be deputy to a male president."
