The leading indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange showed modest gains at the start of trading, Tuesday morning. The TA composite index stood at 1,010.66, up .82 percent from Monday's close, while the TA 100 rose .85 percent to 1,019.09, including an .88 percent rise by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues to 1,125.44.
Leading the way were the oil and gas stocks, which rose .93 percent to 1,265.68, followed by the biomed index, which checked in at 776.46, up .87 percent, while the rest of the technology issues rose .58 percent to 282.24. The financial institutions opened at 911.50, up .57 percent; bank stocks rising .55 percent to 980.34, while the insurance index stood at 1,067.73, up .38 percent. The real estate index rose half a percent to 279.91 and the communications index opened at 754.75, up .17 percent
