Mayors of cities and towns in Judea and Samaria belonging to the Likud distributed a letter to MKs Monday and asked them to prevent “unnecessary friction” between authorities and residents of Yesha. Specifically, they asked the MKs to prevent evicting Jews from their homes and demolishing structures, even if they were built on private Arab land – and instead offer the Arabs compensation in the form of cash and alternative, state-controlled land.

“As mayors and members of the Likud we turn to you during these sensitive times, and ask you to prevent demolitions, and unnecessary clashes with residents,” the letter said.
