Member of Knesset Anastassia Michaeli (Yisrael Beiteinu) filed a complaint, Monday, with the Knesset Ethics Committee, accusing Member of Knesset Ghaleb Majadle (Labor) with verbal violence toward her in an exchange that ended when he ordered out of a meeting of the Knesset Education Committee and she doused him with a cup of water.
Following the incident, Michaeli's office issued a statement which said, "On the one hand, as far as I'm concerned, the words of Ghaleb Majadle are worth as much as a garlic skin, however, the time is past that a man can curse a woman in public, insult her and behave violently. Times have changed. I will not let any man, however respectable an MK, the privilege of acting violently, certainly not at the Knesset. I generally think that water is a great tool to cool down. For MK Majadle, it was a small price, because stopping violence against women is much bigger."
