Member of Knesset Anastassia Michaeli (Yisrael Beiteinu) filed a complaint, Monday, with the Knesset Ethics Committee, accusing Member of Knesset Ghaleb Majadle (Labor) with verbal violence toward her in an exchange that ended when he ordered out of a meeting of the Knesset Education Committee and she doused him with a cup of water.
Following the incident, Michaeli's office issued a statement which said, "On the one hand, as far as I'm concerned, the words ofGhaleb Majadle are worth as much as a garlic skin, however, the time is past that amancan curse a womanin public, insult herandbehaveviolently.Times have changed.I will not letanyman, howeverrespectable an MK,theprivilegeof acting violently, certainly not at the Knesset.Igenerallythinkthat water isa great tool tocool down.ForMKMajadle,it was a small price, because stoppingviolenceagainst women ismuch bigger."
