ChairmanDannyDayan of the Yesha Council of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria reacted, Sunday evening, to reports thatCoalition ChairmanZe'evElkinreported on theevacuation of outpost communities to right wing activists by saying, "The attack on Member of KnessetZe'ev Elkinisa completedistortionoffactsandcausesgreat injustice to the chairman ofthe coalition."



Dayan continued, "When they startedto receive reportsthat, despitethe agreementwe formulatedwithBenny Begin,the armywas goingto destroytheRamat Gilead,I turned to several sources, including thePrimeMinister'sOffice, MinistersBegin andYa'alon, Member of Knesset ElkinandGeneral [Avi] Mizrahiso that they would actto stopthe reckless move.Elkin,as usual,wasfastestandsoonreturnedwithinformationfromthe politicalechelon that Ramat Giladwill not be destroyed.ImyselfI sent outthis information...to defuse the situation." He concluded, "Special interestswho havean agendaagainstElkindistort the factstohurt him."
