Defense Minister Ehud Barak reacted to the Treasury's budget proposal by saying, Thursday evening, "I will not allow a situation wherewe have tostoptraining, are notequipped with munitions forfightingandIron Dome interception missilesandbatteries, harm operationalmissions and notbe readyfor the next confrontationif it happens."

He explained, "At the startof 2012Israel faces immediateandlong-term security challenges and they are bothdemanding. It's the government's responsibility to respond to them."
