Katzav Attorney Seeks More Time to Appeal

Attorney Tzion Amir, counsel forformer presidentMoshe Katzav,filedan urgentrequest with the SupremeCourt, Thursdayfora further extensionof60 days,submita request for a further hearingon Katzav's appeal of his conviction and seven-year prison sentence for sexual assault and obstruction of justice. Katzav started serving the sentence last month. His defense team had recently announced that they would not be proceeding with an appeal.
