French Ambassador to Discuss Zeitouni Affair in Knesset

France's Ambassador to Israel, Christophe Bigot, will appear at a meeting of the Knesset Aliyah and Absorption committee to explain why his government has refused to extradite the drivers who ran down Lee Zeitouni. The two suspects in the case, Claude Isaacs and Eric Roubbi, are French citizens who made aliyah, but escaped back to France after running Zeitouni down last year in a hit and run incident. France has refused to extradite the two, saying that they would be tried in France instead.

MK Danny Danon (Likud), chairman of the committee, said that “the lax hand that has not insisted on extraditing the killers of Zeitouni demands investigation. We must make use of the service of the Jewish community in France to resolve this issue. We must begin legal proceedings in France that will result in their being extradited to stand trial in Israel,” Danon said.
