      Shekel Strengthened Against Dollar in 2011

      The shekel continued strengthening against the dollar in 2011, the Bank of Israel said Monday. Despite the recent increase in the dollar's strength, overall the shekel was stronger than the dollar by 4.3%. This follows a strengthening of the shekel against the dollar by 5.1% in 2010. The shekel was down against the euro by 0.5% in 2011.

      The daily average value of the shekel versus the dollar was NIS 3.5781, while its daily average value against the euro was NIS 4.9781.
