Ketzaleh to Proceed with "Migron Law" without Ministers

Member of Knesset Ya'akov Katz said, Sunday, that he will introduce his legislative alternative to demolitions of Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria this Wednesday, following the decision by the Ministerial Committee on Legislation to to delay its vote on endorsing the measure by three months, at the request of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. The National Union party chairman explained that the delay was requested in order to enable the uprooting of the Binyamin-region community of Migron, just north of Jerusalem.

Ketzaleh and other sponsors of the bill note that the measure came about after the Supreme Court ordered the demolition of homes in Migron after it became apparent that the Arab who claimed the property on which the homes were built had no proof of ownership. Similarly, in the Ulpana (religious girls' high school) neighborhood in nearby Beit-El, the High Court ordered them to be razed without checking on the ownership of the land, which was bought from a different Arab than the one who claimed it.
