Cabinet Approves Dead Sea Deal with Israel Chemicals

The cabinet voted 21-2, Sunday afternoon to approve the agreement reached by the Ministry of Finance and Israel Chemicals for funding protection of the Dead Sea, harvesting its salts and raising royalties the company will pay to the state.
Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz praised the vote, noting "The agreement, together with the recently-passed amendment to the Encouragement of Capital Investments Law, will bring in hundreds of millions of shekels to a billion shekels each year."
