Euro, Yen Outpace Pound, Dollar


The official value of the shekel declined an average of .331 percent, Friday, against the representative currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.821, up .105 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .486 percent to 4.9381 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8918, up .284 percent, while 100 Japenese yen rose .461 to 4.9297 shekels. The South African rand was fixed at NIS .4716, up 1.05 percent, and the Australian dollar rose .932 percent to 3.8774 shekels.
