The Jerusalem District Court released Shlomo Fuchs to house arrest, Friday morning, on bail of NIS 5,000. Fuchs is charged with sexual harassment for calling a female soldier "slut".
Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, Attorney Yair Nehorai, who represents a number of defendants in hareidi-religious society, said charging Fuchs with sexual harassment "was a precedent-setting decision when swearing becomes sexual harassment and it is clear from the circumstances and [the defendant's] mental makeup that not only he did not want to abuse her sexually, he did not want anything to do with her. I'm not sure that this slippery slope will not become Niagara Falls, so that not only will hareidim but all minorities will have to deal with this decision. They have to question the notion that a person swears at a woman and they say it's sexual harassment."
