Chief Rabbi Rafi Peretz of the Israel Defense Forces said, this week, that "The failures of Beit Shemesh will not happen in the IDF."
In a lettersent to IDF commanders regarding bias against women, Rabbi Peretzwrote, "We hear of a number of cases ofdiscrimination againstwomeninthe IDF.I find it hard to stand idly byin lightof suchserious cases.Thesecasesare notethical,are not in line with thewaysand valuesof the IDFandstandin stark contrastto the spiritof Judaism."
