Zbeidi Turns Himself In

Zekaria Zbeidi, the former commander of the Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades in Jenin, turned himself in to the Preventative Security Establishment of the Palestinian Authority (PA), Thursday evening, out of concern that he would be arrested by Israel as a wanted terror suspect. Israel revoked Zbeidi's amnesty after Jenin gunmen under him pointed their guns at PA security officers recently, among growing tension in the northern Samarian city.

Zbeidi took part in an amnesty given to all terrorists who gave up terror and turned in their weapons two-and-a-half years ago. He claimed he upheld all the conditions of the amnesty and could not understand why it was being revoked, in his case.
