The government requested another 1.611 Billion NIS for the security budget. Chairman of the Knesset Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, MK Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) castigated the request, “The government has made a decision to prefer the security budget over the social needs of the people. This extra budget should go to the social ministries. This government seems to be determined to bury the Trajtenberg Committee recommendations.”
