Most of the major indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted moderate to sharp increases on Sunday. The TA composite index rose 1.78 percent to 991.69, while the TA 100 closed at 1,000.48, up 1.88 percent, including a 2.18 percent rise to 1,115.25 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
With bank stocks rising 2.43 percent to 972.61, the financial institutions finished the first day of the trading week at 893.58, up 1.89 percent, including a .84 percent increase by the insurance issues to 1,019.76. Most of the technology stocks rose an average of 2.17 percent to 277.71, while the biomed index rose 1.8 percent to 723.52. The real-estate index closed at 270.12, up 1.98 percent while the communications stocks rose 1.37 percent to 768.30. The oil and natural gas index finished the day at 1,157.13, up 1.08 percent.
