Deputy Mayor David Hadari of Jerusalem said, Sunday, that the united Bayit Yehudi/National Union faction that he heads will oppose land concessions planned by Mayor Nir Barkat. Interviewed on Arutz Sheva's Hebrew journal, Hadari said, "There's no place in Jerusalem for any concessions, direct or indirect."
It was reported last week that Barkat had sought endorsement of the plan by rabbis of the religious-Zionist movement. Hadari called the initial idea naive, noting that in later statements, Barkat backed off from the scope of the original proposal. Hadari said the proposal is objectionable, adding that the city's borders are for the Knesset to determine and not the city.
