Channel 2 Crew Attacked in Beit Shemesh
According to the Israel Police a TV crew was attacked by a group of Hareidi men in Beit Shemesh.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said a group of hareidi men surrounded a Channel 2 news truck and hurled stones at it, lightly wounding one member of the TV crew. Rosenfeld added the rioters also stole TV equipment.
Beit Shemesh, a city of 85,000 just outside Jerusalem, has been a focal point of social tensions between modern-Orthodox and hareidi residents in recent years. On Friday, Channel 2 aired a story about the tensions in the city where a fringe group of hareidi extremists have taken up residence.
